Franklin University has an opening for a Technical Trainer.  This position is responsible for the development, maintenance, scheduling and delivery of technical training and materials.  This individual will serve as the expert in the usage of various educational technologies including and related to the BlueQuill Learning Management System.  This expertise will manifest in the creation of online training materials, face-to-face training sessions, how-to articles, videos and interaction with the user base at large which includes faculty, staff, students, and employees of partner companies both in person and online.  In addition, this individual will provide support and training to enhance and further knowledge of systems utilized by Franklin University employees and students including Skype for Business, Adobe Connect, Big Blue Button,, Sharepoint and other educational software.  This position will engage with the user community to moderate and gather feedback to help identify training gaps and possible feature development.  This will be accomplished by talking to users, understanding Help Desk ticket trends, and understanding the development and impact of new features.  The Technical Trainer will learn and observe user behavior and provide feedback to the development team on enhancing user experience.  He/she will work closely with business analysts, quality assurance analysts, software developers, and the Help Desk to understand technology built and used by the University.  In addition, he/she will work closely with faculty, course designers, content editors, students and various staff members to understand user needs.

We seek someone with a minimum of an Associate's Degree in a related field or equivalent combination of relevant education, technical, business and higher education experience.  A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Education, Organizational Learning Development, or Computer Sciences with a concentration in Adult Learning Curriculum Development is strongly preferred.  The selected individual will be customer service oriented and must have intermediate to advanced skills and knowledge using various software applications.  He/she must also have the ability to quickly comprehend complex software applications and make it understandable to users.  Prior experience with technical training and technologies and in preparing technical documentation is required.  The selected individual must also have effective written and verbal communication, presentation and facilitation skills and the ability to work with groups and teams in planning and implementing change
