Undergraduate Open House and Registration Event

So that we can serve you most efficiently, it is recommended that you contact your college as soon as possible to request an official transcript to be sent to transcripts@franklin.edu prior to the event – if you have not already done so. Most schools are able to accommodate this request. If you have attended more than one college, an official copy from each school is required.

If you are not able to have your transcripts sent to Franklin ahead of time, you may bring an official (sealed) copy of your transcripts with you for evaluation. Your current level of education determines which of your official transcripts are necessary.

The results of your transfer credit evaluation will help to determine how much of your degree requirements can be fulfilled with your previous coursework and if you will be required to take any placement tests before registering for your first-term courses.

The need for placement testing is determined as a result of your official transfer credit evaluation. If you do not have prior college credit or you are not transferring in the Franklin equivalent of a college-level writing course and an algebra-based math course, you will need to complete placement testing. 

There is no cost to take your initial placement tests at the Start to Finish event. We will also waive the $15 re-take fee, if you choose to attend on Jan. 14. However, please note that if you need to take a placement test, you should allow one hour for each placement test needed.

Financial aid counselors will be available at the event to answer questions, identify funding sources or to help you complete your FAFSA.

If you have not already done so it is strongly recommended that you complete your FAFSA or update it with Franklin’s school code (003046) at least one week prior to the event. Early completion will help us to provide more personalized counseling regarding your potential financial aid award.

If you would like help completing your FAFSA, you will need to come to the event prepared with:

• An FSA ID username and password
• Your 2017 federal income tax returns, W-2s, and other records of money earned.
   

Registration is the last step in the admission process. During registration, you can work with an admissions advisor to choose your first-term classes and get your final questions answered. You’ll receive your Registration statement detailing the courses you’ve chosen, as well as your Franklin email address and login information to the student portal.

Please note: Registration can only be completed if Franklin has received all of your official transcripts and any required placement tests have been completed.

For attending the event, you will receive up to $100 to use toward your e-textbooks during the Summer 2020 term only. There are no cash refunds for purchases less than $100.
