Franklin University Board of Trustees Elect David Stone as New Member

Columbus, OH (January 26, 2016)

Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults, is pleased to announce the election of David F. Stone, Executive Managing Director of Specialty Banking, Huntington National Bank, to its Board of Trustees. Stone was recommended by the Trusteeship Governance Committee during its January meeting and will be serving on the Board’s Finance Committee.

In his role with Huntington National Bank, Stone manages six specialized commercial banking teams with over 70 skilled professionals, including relationship managers and portfolio managers. His management responsibilities include management of a number of industry segments, including Food & Agriculture Banking, Franchise Banking, Healthcare Banking, International Banking, Private Equity Banking and Government Banking.  In addition, Stone serves as a voting member of the corporate loan committee which adjudicates all loans for the Corporation over $10MM and Commercial Risk Management Committee.

Prior to his current role, Stone has served as Commercial Regional Manager with Huntington National Bank; various roles with National City Bank/PNC Corp, including commercial manager, deputy chief officer and regional manager for commercial banking, and tenure track instructor of economics with the University of Findlay.

His community and professional affiliations include serving as president of the Board of Trustees for Ohio Business Week and as a past board member of Operation Feed

Stone earned a master of arts in economics and a bachelor of science in business administration, both from Bowling Green State University.
