Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults, is proud to announce the election of Dr. Debra Petrizzo and Dr. Wendell Seaborne as President and Vice President of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) Great Lakes Regional Assembly. Election of the two new officials was held during the Annual Conference and Assembly Meeting October 5-8, 2016, hosted at Franklin University’s main campus in Columbus, Ohio.
Election of two Franklin representatives is a positive reflection on the University’s reputation and furthers the mission and education cornerstone that decisions and resource allocations reflect a commitment to developing high-quality curricula and instruction in professional fields of study. It is this commitment that provides the University with the distinction of being the second largest provider of business related degrees in Ohio.
Dr. Debra Petrizzo
Dr. Petrizzo serves as the Program Chair for Franklin University’s Accounting program. In her role, she calls upon her more than 20 years of experience in senior-level accounting and program leadership roles. Currently, in addition to serving as Program Chair, she has developed courses for, and taught within, undergraduate and graduate programs, and has played a key role in the creation of Franklin’s Global MBA Program.
As IACBE Great Lakes Regional Assembly President, Dr. Debra Petrizzo will spend her two-year term in office as presiding officer at business meetings of the assembly, will work with and assist the president of IACBE in membership development within the region, and may appoint committee members and designate the chair of each committee.
Dr. Wendell Seaborne
Dr. Wendell Seaborne serves as the Program Chair of Franklin University’s new Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program. He brings to Franklin academic experience in the Falls School of Business at Anderson University and industry experience with a major electric utility, Duke Energy-Indiana and its predecessor companies: Cinergy-PSI, PSI Energy, and Public Service Indiana.
As Vice President, Dr. Wendell Seaborne will be responsible for planning and organizing the annual Regional Assembly Conference (RAC) for the region and submitting to IACBE headquarters all conference documentation. The vice president serves a two-year term. After a president completes his/her term of office, the vice president becomes the next president of the Regional Assembly and serves a two-year term.
