Furthering its mission to provide relevant education to the broadest community of learners, Franklin University announces its new partnership with Starr Commonwealth, an organization built on resilience and fostering healing youth. With over two centuries of combined expertise, this partnership offers learners the opportunity to advance their knowledge through two new  certifications (Trauma-Informed, Resilience-Focused Clinical and Trauma-Informed, Resilience-Focused Education) while working towards breaking the cycle of trauma and bringing systematic change in the world.

Starr Commonwealth certifications provide students with specialized knowledge presented in a self-paced, five-course (and online exam) format to achieve desired career outcomes. In addition, the partnership between the University and Starr Commonwealth provides an opportunity for learners who successfully earn certification to get credit toward a Franklin University degree – saving time and money.

Certificate of Trauma-Informed, Resilience-Focused Clinical Application
The online Certificate of Trauma-Informed, Resilience-Focused Clinical Application provides a deep understanding of the way trauma impacts the mental and physical health – of individuals and communities, as well as how resilience can shape future positive health outcomes.

Learners gain a trauma-informed perspective while building on their skills to become more caring and compassionate professionals, without “burning out.” In addition to the new tools and skills to heal in clinical settings, students earn a professional credential that demonstrates a commitment to building resilience in children, families, and communities.

Certificate of Trauma-Informed, Resilience-Focused Education
Learners interested in a Certificate of Trauma-Informed, Resilience-Focused Education will gain a comprehensive overview of the effects of stress and trauma within the school experience. Throughout the five-course program, students will learn proactive strategies to nurture connections, prioritize emotional skills and establish safety. Courses delve into concepts such as Circle of Courage and the SITCAP model, while also practicing real-life resilience skills as a method of self-care to minimize professional fatigue.

As a beginner level, the Starr certification is 100% online, resulting in a digital badge to add to one’s professional resume. The completion of this certification provides learners with the designation to showcase their commitment to the skills of trauma, resilience, and emotional regulation.
