Franklin University, a leading educator of working adults, is pleased to announce the addition of its new DNP-Doctor of Nursing Practice tracks – Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (DNP-AGPCNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (DNP-PMHNP) as its latest School of Nursing offerings. Today’s announcement adds to the University’s existing BSN and MSN practitioner programs, revamped MBA-Healthcare program, and the newly introduced online DNP – Doctor of Nursing Practice – Family Nurse Practitioner track and DNP – Doctor of Nursing Practice – Leadership track.

Students in Franklin’s online nursing programs learn from real-world practitioners who are helping to shape an ever-evolving profession. The online nursing degree programs are designed to expose students to in-field best practices, evidence-based methodologies, and clinically based assignments.
While recognizing the commitment nurses are making globally, Franklin is proud to help support nurses by announcing an automatic award of a $5000 scholarship in these new DNP tracks beginning this fall.

Doctor of Nursing Practice-Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (DNP-AGPCNP) track
The online DNP-gerontology program provides advanced practice nurses with a wellness-based, holistic approach to specialized care while becoming the go-to medical provider for adult patients over the long term. Through education and practice, nurses gain a deep understanding of the aging process, focusing on adult patients and confronting the unique medical challenges that occur as individuals age.

Designed for the busy working nurses, Franklin’s convenient online courses are equipped to challenge and advance nurses’ skills while advancing their careers.

Franklin’s DNP with AGPCNP concentration features a course-based practicum, allowing nurses to apply and demonstrate their competency for a total of 1,100 practicum and clinical hours, starting with major area courses, and continuing through the DNP seminar courses and AGPCNP clinical hours.

Franklin’s Doctor of Nursing Practice-Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (DNP-PMHNP) track takes on a holistic approach while developing nursing students’ knowledge and skills in order to improve the accessibility of mental and behavioral healthcare. Through proper training and education, Franklin’s program equips those with the capabilities to diagnose acute, episodic, and chronic mental health illnesses and provide treatment options that include medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of the two.

Built for the busy working nurse, this track combines learning and practicum hours to accelerate the completion of the degree program to about 3 years for RNs with an MSN; while Franklin’s BSN to DNP pathway can be completed in 4 years.
