Canvas and Your Franklin E-mail
Communication is an important part of your Franklin experience. Checking and using your Franklin student email is vital to getting the information needed to complete your degree. Utilizing the Canvas inbox is key to your success in classes.
You must check both communication systems regularly. To avoid miscommunications, it may be helpful to understand how these two communication systems are related.
Your Canvas inbox is not connected to or integrated with your Microsoft Office 365 student email in any way. You can turn on email notifications for your Canvas inbox, which will send a message to your Franklin email alerting you there is a new message in Canvas.
In addition, when sending an email outside of Canvas to Franklin staff and offices, such as to your academic advisor or our Student Financial Services team, all messages need to be sent from your Franklin student email. Please do not use a personal email address.
You can access your Franklin e-mail through myFranklin, Canvas, or mail.franklin.edu. You can also download the Outlook app to access e-mails on your mobile device.
If you’d like to forward e-mails received by your Franklin student account to a personal e-mail, follow these instructions from Microsoft (remember to make sure any responses to e-mails come from your Franklin student account). You can also view our E-mail Training Guide tutorial for assistance with your Franklin e-mail.
For additional help with accessing your student e-mail, please reach out to the Franklin University Help Desk through one of the below options:
- Chat
- E-mail: helpdesk@franklin.edu
- Phone: 866.435.7006 or 614.947.6222
