Keeping Track of Your Goals
We are five months into 2024, and it may be time to check on your progress toward the New Year's resolutions you made. One study found that the more often you monitor your goal progress, the more likely you will succeed. If you're struggling to commit to your goals, check out some tips to get back on track!
Download a Tracking App: Keep your goals attainable by creating a schedule with deadlines. Big goals need to be broken into small actionable steps over time. Create micro-goals for each day and schedule them into your week. Your goals will not feel as overwhelming or stressful if you create a timeline that works best for you. Use your timeline to evaluate if you are ahead or behind on your goal deadlines. A goal tracking app is perfect for this!
Keep a Journal: Set aside time daily to write about your goals and make a note of the progress you've made. If you encounter setbacks, use your journal to reflect on the progress you've made up to this point. It is a great way to stay motivated! Additionally, a daily journal will give you time to think about your goals and determine if adjustments must be made.
Get a Partner: Find someone to help you be accountable for your goals. Sometimes, it is easier to "show up" for others than for yourself. You will always have that person to lean on for extra encouragement. Additionally, a partner can provide an outside perspective on how you are advancing towards your goals.
Remember, there isn't one answer for all! Consider what works best for you. Click here to learn more about how to track your goals.
