Date & Time:
Wed, Oct. 11, 2023
| 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Location:
Online
Description:
Join us on Wednesday, Oct. 11 with guest speaker Mike Posey, Ph.D., Professor and Lead Faculty for Popular Culture, Interpersonal Communication and Public Relations at Franklin University.
The intersection of popular culture and artificial intelligence is one that we cannot afford to ignore. In fact, how we communicate about AI within various popular culture artifacts (movies, music, social media, etc...) is paramount in creating a world where AI is both accepted and controlled in our society. In this session, we will examine how our popular culture has depicted AI over the decades and how it has shaped our views of AI correctly or incorrectly to this point. As part of this session, we will discuss the pros and cons of communicating the benefits and dangers of AI as we quickly move forward toward a future filled with AI and how that communication is ultimately important to the many outcomes wish to achieve by using AI in our products, services and organizations.
