Description:
This course explores the basic concepts and processes of management. Students will explore the functional roles and processes of planning, leading, organizing, and controlling comprising the manager role. Students develop skills related to the manager function that are required in today's competitive environment.

Outcomes:

  • Define and explain management, including the necessary functions, roles, and skills of a manager
  • Explain the functions of planning, organizing, leading, and controlling and how they interrelate
  • Plan and organize from a manager's point of view
  • Analyze managerial scenarios and explain how to effectively lead and control in the situations presented
  • Analyze and evaluate a managerial problem and create a solution
  • Explain issues and practices related to managing individuals, groups, and organizational stakeholders
