International Undergraduate Student Admissions Deadlines

Students who plan to apply for an F-1 visa or who are already in the U.S. in F-1 status are not currently being admitted to undergraduate programs. Other nonimmigrant students can be admitted to undergraduate programs for fall, spring and summer trimesters. All admissions decisions are dependent on program availability.

All admissions materials, including transcripts, test scores, and financial documents, must be submitted by the application deadline. All students must attend a registration appointment and attend international student orientation. Classes begin meeting on the course start date, and students are expected to have reviewed course materials before the first day. If you are unable to meet any of the deadlines, you may request that OISP consider your application for the next available term.

Submit Transcripts

To be admitted to Franklin's undergraduate programs, you must demonstrate that you have earned the equivalent of a U.S. high school (secondary) education or higher from an accredited institution.

• If you have not attended a post-secondary institution (college or university) or have only some post-secondary experience, please contact OISP to confirm which education credentials are required, since requirements vary by country and region. You may be required to submit a secondary education certificate, an official examinations results slip, and/or information for accessing your examinations council's online verification service.
• If you attended a post-secondary institution located outside the U.S., please submit your education credentials (i.e. transcripts) to a NACES-member international credentials evaluation agency. Your credential evaluation must include a course-by-course evaluation, and the completed, official evaluation must be sent from the agency directly to Franklin's Office of Transfer and Articulation.
• If you attended a post-secondary institution located in the U.S., contact your previous school's Registrar's Office to request your transcript be sent directly to Franklin.

Undergraduate English Proficiency Requirements

Prospective undergraduate students must demonstrate English language proficiency. A student who meets at least one of the following criteria is eligible for admission as a degree-seeking student:

• The applicant is a citizen of a country where English is the primary language for education. A list of these countries can be found below.
• The applicant has provided official documentation that meets Franklin graduate admission requirements from an institution in which English is the medium of instruction.
• The applicant has submitted an official score report meeting the minimum requirements for admission (see Minimum Scores below) from one of the following exams approved by Franklin University: Accuplacer ESL (See Placement Testing), Cambridge English Qualifications, Duolingo English Test (DET), International English Language Testing System Academic (IELTS), Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). ). Other officially recognized exams may also be considered. English proficiency scores must be less than two years old.

Students whose scores meet the minimum required for undergraduate admission but are below the graduate requirement may meet the graduate English proficiency requirement by completing an ESL Pathway Program during their first semester enrolled in a graduate program at Franklin University.

Students applying for admission to graduate programs to be attended from outside the U.S. or offered through Global Partnerships abroad must meet the minimum requirements for admission (see Minimum Scores below) from one of the following exams approved by Franklin University: Accuplacer ESL*, Duolingo English Test (DET), International English Language Testing System Academic (IELTS), Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE A), Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). Other officially recognized exams may also be considered. English proficiency scores must be less than two years old.

*ACCUPLACER Assessments for Admission:

• Prospective students may demonstrate English language proficiency through the ACCUPLACER ESL® examinations administered by Franklin University. The ACCUPLACER ESL® suite of examinations are internet-based, computer-adaptive assessments designed to properly assess students’ English language competencies.
• There are no fees for initial attempts at the ACCUPLACER ESL® examinations if they test at Franklin University Testing Center or through Franklin’s online proctoring provider. Students are only responsible for any fees incurred for retake examinations.
• Students who do not meet the minimum score requirements may retake the examination(s), but not more than twice within a two-week period. If students take the exam twice within two weeks, subsequent examination retakes will be considered only after a three-month waiting period from the original test date. Passing scores will remain valid with Franklin University for a period of two years from the original test date.
• All ACCUPLACER examinations must be administered by an ACCUPLACER approved proctor that meets specific criteria, as defined by our proctor expectations and Accuplacer. Proctors must be a Franklin University proctor, an ACCUPLACER remote test network proctor, or ProctorU. For additional information, contact testing@franklin.edu
   

International Graduate Student Admissions Deadlines

Students who plan to apply for an F-1 visa or who are already in the U.S. in F-1 status can be admitted to graduate programs for fall and spring trimesters. Other nonimmigrant students can be admitted to graduate programs for fall, spring and summer trimesters. All admissions decisions are dependent on program availability.

All admissions materials, including transcripts, test scores, and financial documents, must be submitted by the application deadline. F-1 students must receive their F-1 visa or transfer their SEVIS record and pay the non-refundable tuition deposit by the deposit deadline. You must arrive at Franklin by the program start date and may enter the U.S. up to 30 days before that date. All students must attend a registration appointment or group session to schedule courses with an advisor. Classes begin meeting on the initial session start date, and students are expected to have reviewed course materials before the first day. If you are unable to meet any of the deadlines, you may request that OISP consider your application for the next available term.

Transfer students in F-1 immigration status must wait until after they have been accepted to Franklin, paid the non-refundable $200 enrollment term confirmation deposit and submitted proof of financial responsibility before requesting their current school transfer their SEVIS records to Franklin. The $2,000 non-refundable tuition deposit must be paid after the SEVIS record has been scheduled to be transferred to Franklin. Students with initial-status SEVIS records are only eligible for transfer to Franklin if they can provide evidence that they arrived within 30 days of Franklin's I-20 program start date, and they must follow correct transfer procedures.

*​Franklin University's official break term for F-1 students is Summer Trimester. F-1 students must enroll in the Fall and Spring Trimester and are not guaranteed the ability to enroll in face-to-face courses in Summer Trimesters.

International Doctoral Student Admissions Deadlines

Other nonimmigrant students can be admitted to doctoral programs for fall, spring and summer trimesters. All admissions decisions are dependent on program availability.

All admissions materials, including transcripts and test scores, must be submitted by the application deadline. All students must attend a registration appointment and attend international student orientation. Classes begin meeting on the course start date, and students are expected to have reviewed course materials before the first day. If you are unable to meet any of the deadlines, you may request that OISP consider your application for the next available term.

 Graduate and Doctoral Transcript Requirements

To be admitted to Franklin's graduate programs, you must demonstrate that you have earned a baccalaureate degree from an institution accredited by a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)-recognized accrediting organization or its equivalent from a foreign institution.

• If you attended a post-secondary institution located outside the U.S., send your education credentials to an approved third-party transcript evaluation agency. Your credential evaluation must include a course-by-course evaluation and grade point average (GPA) calculation.
• If you attended a post-secondary institution located in the U.S., send your official, sealed transcripts. Final transcripts are required to determine degree and course completion.

Official education credentials (i.e. transcripts or credential evaluations), syllabi, and/or course descriptions may be required from all post-secondary institutions where you have completed coursework to maximize transfer or prerequisite credit.

Graduate and Doctoral English Proficiency Requirements

To be eligible for admission to Franklin University's graduate and doctoral programs in the U.S., you must meet the following minimum overall and subsection scores:
