Franklin Hosts 146th Commencement Ceremony

Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults, will hold its 146th Commencement Ceremony on Sunday, May 11th, 2014, at 2 p.m., during which more than 500 degree candidates will receive their diplomas at Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
In addition to celebrating all of the mother's who will be graduating this Sunday, 19 of the students who will be graduating hold the special honor of being the first to complete the Master of Healthcare Administration program at Franklin.
President and Chief executive Officer of Ohio Health Corp. David P. Blom, will make the keynote address. Blom has held his position for the past 12 years, and in this role established OhioHealth as the market leader with a 44 percent market share through clinical service-line growth, geographical expansion, physician recruitment, cost efficiency, acquisitions, and new facility development. Blom established a new health-system governance model, uniting several boards of directors into one corporate board.
Blom’s career with OhioHealth spans more than 30 years and includes many leadership positions including hospital president at three different facilities, vice president, system vice president, executive vice president, and chief operating officer. His achievements have garnered recognitions such as CEO of the Year by Columbus CEO magazine, Businessperson of the Year by Columbus Business First, and Smart Leader by Smart Business magazine. In 2011, he was honored by his peers and chosen CEO of the Year (Large Nonprofit category) in a list compiled and published in Columbus CEO magazine.
Blom is active on professional boards such as the Voluntary Hospitals of America (VHA), a network of 1,400 nonprofit hospitals that work together to improve clinical and economic performance, and Provista, a for-profit, growth-oriented subsidiary of VHA. He also serves on a number of local boards including the Columbus Partnership, the Columbus Downtown Development Commission, and the Columbus Foundation
Receiving his Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) degree, John Pilutti will also address the graduates. Pilutti currently serves as a Product Specialist for Aprima Medical Software. For the last 11 years he has been involved with electronic health record software, supporting a sales force of 20 to assure the efficiency and quality of electronic health records implementation. Pilutti plans to use the knowledge he acquired in the MHA program to open doors into other areas of the medical profession.
A central Ohio native, Pilutti was involved in many community activities before returning to college. John earned his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Franklin University in 2012. John is grateful to his wife and four children for their support in his educational journey
