Students can now earn two bachelors’ degrees in five semesters on the Rhodes State College campus through a partnership with Franklin University.
Today, the two institutions signed a formal agreement that will allow Rhodes State graduates and anyone in the community with an associate’s degree to enroll in an accelerated program, taught by Franklin faculty, to concurrently earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and one in Management & Leadership. Dr. Debra McCurdy, president of Rhodes State College, and Dr. David Decker, president of Franklin University, hailed the arrangement as a great benefit to the community.
“We are excited to expand educational opportunities and this is just another way Rhodes State aligns its associate degrees with universities’ bachelor degree programs,” Dr. McCurdy said. “This option allows students to earn the credentials they desire in a more affordable manner and it helps create a more highly educated workforce in our region.”
Dr. Decker said, “The signing of our co-location partnership with Rhodes State College allows students in Lima and its surrounding areas to benefit from an expanded physical and financial access to education. By expanding the opportunities students have to complete a bachelor’s degree, we provide access to the broadest possible community of learners to achieve their goals and enrich the world.”
All classes will be in the evening, which is convenient for adult students. One benefit of the partnership is that it minimizes the time and money it takes to earn a bachelor’s degree.
Franklin University, a lead educator of adult students, is based in Columbus and offers more than 40 undergraduate and graduate programs. Annually nearly 10,000 students attend Franklin.
