Dr. Wendell Seaborne is Dean of Doctoral Studies & Academic Research. He was formerly Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs and served as the Chief Academic Officer for Franklin University. Prior to his appointment as SVPAA, he served as Dean of Doctoral Studies, Department Chair for Business Administration Programs, Program Chair for the Doctor of Business Administration Program and Lead Faculty in the Masters of Business Administration program.
Dr. Seaborne’s full-time academic career has spanned two universities. First was Anderson University’s Falls School of Business in Anderson, Indiana from 1999 to 2011. He served as an adjunct in the MBA program, Associate Professor of Finance and Business, Associate Professor of Management and, finally, promoted to Professor of Management. He also served as the Director of Global Programs and two years as the chair of the university’s Graduate Council.
Dr. Seaborne joined Franklin University in May 2011 in the MBA Program. He has taught in Franklin’s MBA program in Poland, Slovakia, Oman, Macedonia and Ukraine. He served as chair of Franklin’s Graduate Council and as President of the Faculty Senate. He is also the Immediate Past President of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE) for the Great Lakes Region and serves a peer-reviewer for other members’ programs.
Dr. Seaborne holds a BA in Political Science from Indiana University-Bloomington, an MBA from Anderson University with a Finance concentration and a Ph.D. in Organizational Leadership from Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA. His academic research and consulting interests lie in the field of developing leaders, implementing change, strengthening teams and strategy. His dissertation topic involved the use of leadership style and empowerment. He enjoys public speaking on these and a host of topics. Additionally, he holds a great personal interest in genealogy.
