Tuition + Fee Changes Effective Fall 2026
For nearly eight years, Franklin has kept tuition unchanged, even as operating costs continued to rise. During that time, the University absorbed those increases to keep your education as affordable and predictable as possible. The adjustments outlined below enable us to continue delivering the academic quality, career-focused programs, and student support services that you have come to expect and depend upon.
Fees
Resource + Book Fees
Beginning in fall 2026, a $100 resource fee will be charged to all students every trimester. The Resource Fee supports the Franklin student experience by providing access to enhanced technology, and library and learning resources, as well as wellness and co-curricular services that support student persistence and well-being.
As a result of rising costs from publishers and content providers, there will also be an increase in textbook and courseware fees. The textbook fee will increase from $49 to $79 and courseware fees will increase from $89 to $119.
Resource + Book Fee FAQs
Tuition funds many aspects of Franklin’s student-centered approach to education: academic advising, learning support resources like workshops and tutoring, as well as technology assistance and career services. Resource fees help to defray costs for technology tools (Office, AI apps), instructional support (Grammarly, library subscriptions) and wellness services (online counseling) that are provided by outside vendors and curated by the University for student use.
Yes, although it is not recommended. If you wish to opt out of embedded e-textbooks, log in to the course, click in to the course material platform, and choose to opt out. If you opt out, you must do it no later than 14 days from the course start date. Associated charge(s) on your account will be removed no later than 24 days after the course start date and the course material(s) will subsequently be deleted from the online “library.”
Please note: If you elect to opt out of and independently obtain your access, your out-of-pocket expense is likely to be higher.
An e-textbook is an electronic version of a textbook. It may include the capability to underline, highlight, take and share notes, and sometimes offer a read aloud feature.
A homework platform is an online learning environment, including the e-textbook, homework problems, study plans, simulations and any assessments your instructor indicates.
Tuition Changes
Tuition Rates for 2026-27
Tuition for all new master’s students who enroll at Franklin for fall 2026 – regardless of program – will be $690 per credit hour. Currently enrolled master’s students will maintain their present tuition rate as part of the tuition guarantee.
The new tuition rate for current and new doctoral students will be $828 per credit hour.
There will be no change in the $398 undergraduate (bachelor’s and associate) tuition rate.
Tuition Guarantee
We will also be changing the terms of the Tuition Guarantee for associate, bachelor’s and master’s-level students. While students will still lock in their first-term tuition rate on day one, the duration of the guarantee will be dependent on academic level.
For associate and bachelor’s students, the tuition rate will be locked for four years (12 terms) and for master’s students, the lock will be in effect for three years (9 terms).
This change applies to current students who have already locked in their tuition rate, as well as new students who will enroll in the fall trimester. Current students will continue paying their current locked-in rate for up to four additional years (undergraduate) or up to three additional years (master’s) beginning with the fall 2026 trimester.
Tuition Rate FAQs
Nursing Program Fees
Fees for new students who enroll in the nurse practitioner programs will increase from $1,480 to $1,900. The most up-to-date fees for nursing programs are available on the Nursing Programs Fees page.
