M.S. in Information Systems: Lead where business strategy meets technology
Knowing how a system works is one skill. Explaining why it matters to someone who controls the budget is another. Franklin’s Master of Science in Information Systems online pairs a broad systems core with a Business Information Systems Leadership specialization built directly from MBA coursework. You’ll strengthen your business communication, strategic analysis, and leadership capabilities without stepping away from the technology foundation you’ve already built.
Program Availability
M.S. Information Systems-Business Information Systems Program Overview
Business leadership, built in
The business information systems leadership specialization pairs a 24-credit information systems core with 12 credits of MBA-level coursework in business communication, strategic analysis and leadership development. You’re not choosing between systems expertise and business fluency, and you’re not enrolling in a second program to get there. You’ll build both within one degree.
Speak the language of business
Information systems professionals can describe a system in exact detail and still struggle to explain a market shift, regulatory change, or competitive threat with the same confidence. You’ll strengthen your ability to present complex ideas to nontechnical leaders. You’ll also analyze the legal, economic, competitive and regulatory forces shaping business decisions so you can support technology investments with clearer evidence and stronger context.
A leadership plan built around you
Leadership style often develops by default, shaped by the people and organizations around you. You’ll research current leadership theory, assess your own approach, and build a practical development plan you can apply to how you lead. The goal is a more deliberate leadership style you can use across teams, projects and change initiatives.
Gain product and strategy expertise
The capstone puts you in the product manager role, leading a product from concept to launch. You’ll bring communication, strategic analysis and leadership into the larger systems, product and business decisions the project requires. It’s where you practice shaping the strategy, not just carrying it out.
