I started the Mary Ann Melvin Scholarship at
Franklin because I believe in reaching back and
lifting up those who come after us. As a single
mother pursuing my education, I understood
firsthand the pressures adult students carry every
day. Franklin not only helped me grow, advance,
and transform my career, but it also gave me
lasting friendships and the confidence that carried
me through long days and even longer nights. Today,
I am proud to support students as they pursue their
own journey forward. – MARY ANN MELVIN

CREATE A CHARITABLE
GIFT ANNUITY
A charitable gift annuity offers immediate
impact by providing you or others with
income and leaves a gift for charity in the
future. Donors irrevocably transfer cash,
securities or property for the University’s
benefit with a signed agreement.
In exchange, you and/or designated
beneficiaries receive a fixed dollar amount,
quarterly or annually, for life. At your death/
the death of your beneficiaries, the trust
terminates, and assets are for the University
to use as outlined in the agreement.
For additional details on gift amounts,
contact the Office of Community Relations.
MAKE YOUR GIFT GO FURTHER:
CORPORATE MATCHING GIFTS
Did you know that many employers
sponsor matching gift programs and will
double — sometimes even triple — any
charitable contributions made by their
employees, retirees, or spouses? To find out
if your company has a matching gift policy
contact your human resources office. If your
company participates, request a matching
gift form from your employer, complete and
sign it, and send it by mail. We’ll do the rest!
