2025 AT FRANKLIN

At Franklin University, 2025 marked an incredible 
year that brought new students, new academic 
offerings and new Franklin graduates prepared 
to take on new challenges and opportunities. 
The University’s commitment to making in-demand 
education options affordable and accessible is one 
of the many reasons the University continues 
to be a top choice for today’s learners.
Pathway Portal Expands 
THE UNIVERSITY’S 
NATIONAL PRESENCE
Pathway Portal growth continues to broaden 
the University’s geographic reach outside of Ohio, 
with new Illinois partners that include Danville 
Area Community College and Illinois Valley 
Community College. The addition of North Central 
State College, Cuyahoga Community College 
(Tri-C) and Lakeland Community College in Ohio 
brought the number of Pathway Portal partners 
in Ohio to 16. With a streamlined transfer 
process and lower tuition rate, the Pathway 
Portal maximizes the value of Franklin’s 3+1 
for partner school graduates.

AND EARNINGS

Franklin was named as an Opportunity 
University for its commitment to access and 
student success by the Carnegie Foundation 
and the American Council on Education.
Opportunity Colleges and Universities 
are institutions recognized in Carnegie’s 
Student Access and Earnings Classification 
for providing both higher access and 
stronger economic outcomes for students. 
Only 487 institutions — about 16% of U.S. 
colleges and universities — received this 
designation. These institutions enroll larger 
shares of Pell-eligible and underrepresented 
students and demonstrate that their 
graduates achieve higher earnings eight 
years after graduation compared with 
peers who did not earn the credential. 
First developed in 1970, the Carnegie 
Classification was designed to create a 
framework for understanding the diversity 
of activities among U.S. higher education 
institutions. The Opportunity University 
designation is part of a newly developed 
Student Access and Earnings Classification 
measuring the extent to which universities 
serve students reflective of their communities 
and how earning an undergraduate degree 
positions graduates financially in comparison 
to their peers.
