Any employee pursuing an undergraduate degree is eligible for unlimited undergraduate courses at Franklin University for $5,250 per calendar year. This results in low out-of-pocket costs when you are eligible for $5,250* in tuition reimbursement through your employer.

It is important the following steps are completed to receive your funding!

Once you register each term, please refer to the option below that you will be pursuing to secure tuition assistance from your employer.

• Tuition Reimbursement: You will complete and submit your application for deferred tuition every semester through the Self-Service Student Finance menu, which will allow you to defer payment until after the semester concludes to allow time for your funding to be reimbursed to you from your employer. Here are the steps to take:
  • Log into your Self-Service and select "Student Finance"
  • Choose "Make a Payment" from your Account Summary.
  • Once on the Transact site, please click “View Payment Plan Options” and select the "Deferment Application" option to complete the online enrollment.
• Letter of Credit/Direct Billing: Request a Letter of Credit (LOC) through the process outlined by your employer, detailing your eligible funding for the courses you are enrolled for in the semester. Include specific course(s) and the tuition amount where applicable. Your class schedule and charges can be found within your myFranklin account under Self Service &rarr Student Finance &rarr Select the Term &rarr View Statement. You will need to submit a signed, dated LOC to Franklin's Student Financial Services (SFS) team each semester or when your class schedule changes.

Student account balances will not automatically reflect your letter of credit. Please allow 7-10 business days for eligible funding to be reflected on your account. Franklin will invoice your employer at the end of each trimester. If any grants and/or scholarships are applied prior to the University being notified of any funding eligibility, a balance could be created when letters of credit are processed.

PLEASE NOTE: Students eligible for federal and state grants will be awarded funding; however, employers or benefit providers may require applying grant funding before determining the amount they will pay via direct billing or provide in tuition reimbursement. Students should contact their employer or benefit provider to discuss their specific policy. The Ohio College Opportunity Grant (OCOG) is applied to tuition and fees only; therefore, if no charges exist on the student's account after they have met the annual tuition cap of $5250, any OCOG awarded will not be disbursed.
