Profile

Professor Mary Kay Taylor has been in education almost 18 years, 12 years in online teaching and program administration. Prior to that, she worked for large hospital systems as Director of Health Information Management, a Health Care Systems consultant, Revenue Cycle/Reimbursement Consultant, District Manager of Release of Information company, and Chief Privacy Officer Trainer/Consultant. Her educational background includes a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA), Master of Business (MBA) in Organizational Development & Human Resources from the University of Mary Washington, a Bachelor of Science in Health Information Management and professional certifications, as a Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and the Certified Higher Education Professional (CHEP) certification in Online Teaching. Additionally, she has earned professional certifications as an Associate Professional in Talent Development (APTD) from the Association for Talent Development, and a Talent Management Practitioner (TMP), from the Talent Management Insitute. She is currently pursuing additional certifications in Talent Management as a Global Talent Management Leader (GTML) from the Talent Management Insitute. She received national recognition for the design of an online online training program for the U.S Department of Energy, Emergency Operations Management team. She volunteers her time as a member of the Finance Committee of the Board of Directors of the Tioga County Rural Ministry and serves as the Regional Director for Region VI of the New York State Women Inc. She has also served as a leadership development mentor for Global Leadership Now (GLN), a leadership development organization providing leadership development to girls ages 13-18. She is also a graduate of Leadership Tioga a business and leadership group addressing issues impacting Tioga County, NY.
