Franklin University, a leader in flexible online education, has enhanced its Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Organizational Leadership program by adding two new specialized focus areas: Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Technology. These additions build on the program’s existing focus areas — Higher Education Leadership, Leadership Dynamics & Organizational Behavior, and PK-12 Educational Leadership   PK-12 Educational Leadership — reflecting the evolving needs of education and organizational leadership.

The new focus areas reflect a direct response to growing workforce needs across education, corporate training, and nonprofit sectors. Organizations are increasingly seeking leaders who can design responsive learning systems, integrate digital tools, and drive innovation through data-informed instructional strategies. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment of instructional coordinators is projected to grow 7% from 2022 to 2032 — faster than the average for all occupations — while demand for educational technology specialists continues to rise in tandem with digital transformation across industries.

Franklin’s 100% online Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership allows students to tailor their studies to their professional goals, with an emphasis on real-world application. Both new focus areas equip learners with strategic leadership, research skills, and innovative approaches to improve learning outcomes in diverse environments — from K-12 and higher education to corporate training and nonprofit organizations.

Curriculum & Instruction Focus
This pathway prepares leaders to shape instructional programs that engage learners and support organizational goals. Students learn to apply leadership theory, data analysis, and strategic planning to drive curriculum improvements and instructional innovation at all levels.

Educational Technology Focus
Learners explore emerging technologies and develop expertise to implement agile, scalable learning systems. The focus integrates research and leadership to empower graduates to guide technology-driven learning initiatives that improve organizational performance.

Designed for working professionals, Franklin’s flexible Ed.D. program features asynchronous courses, applied projects, and comprehensive support through the No-Fear Dissertation® process — enabling students to complete their doctorate in as few as three years.
