Franklin University, a leader in flexible online education, is pleased to announce the launch of its 100% online Undergraduate Medical Assistant Certificate—an accelerated, flexible program designed to prepare students for in-demand roles across the healthcare field in as few as eight months.

The new certificate addresses a pressing workforce need: according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, medical assistant jobs are expected to grow 19% by 2033—a rate much faster than average. With an increased focus on preventive care, an aging population, and a growing demand for support staff in healthcare settings, medical assistants are playing a more critical role than ever.

Built for today’s working adult, Franklin’s fully online format allows students to balance school with life and work—while gaining the hands-on knowledge needed to succeed. The curriculum blends clinical and administrative skills, covering everything from HIPAA compliance, vital signs, and exam prep to patient interaction, scheduling, and basic testing procedures.

Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for national certification exams—either the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA)—through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA), helping to ensure they’re prepared to enter the workforce with confidence.

This new offering further illustrates Franklin University’s commitment to providing accessible, career-focused education that supports industry demand and empowers learners to advance professionally.
