This course will focus on theories of crime and types of offending. Topics related the causation, control and prevention of criminal behavior will be addressed in this course.

Outcomes:

• Describe the importance of research and theories to the understanding of crime
• Describe sociological, physiological and biological theories and/or perspectives of crime
• Explain theories of victimization
• Discuss crime typologies
