PSYC204 - Principles of Motivation

Description:
This course is a systematic study of theories, models, and approaches to motivation. The course includes the development of motivation, as well as neurological aspects of motivation. The student will explore internal and external factors that contribute to motivation and a variety of strategies that can be used to become a successful motivator.

Outcomes:

  • Summarize the primary terminology, concepts, and findings related to motivation.
  • Explain the predominant theoretical approaches used in motivational psychology.
  • Identify the primary ethical issues raised by the practice and findings of motivational psychology.
  • Discuss how internal and external factors contribute to motivation.
  • Apply strategies to motivate others.
