Profile

Dr. Kristin Burke Martin is the Program Chair of the MBA Program and Lead Faculty of Financial Management at Franklin University in Columbus, Ohio. In recognition of her contributions to higher education, she was named one of the Top 100 Visionaries in Education by the Global Forum for Education and Learning (GFEL) in 2021. That same year, she was elected Vice President of the Great Lakes Region for the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE). In 2023, Dr. Martin was elected President of the Great Lakes Region for IACBE. Prior to her role at Franklin University, Dr. Martin was the MBA Director at Columbia College in South Carolina, where she developed an online MBA program and taught courses in finance and business. In July 2019, she had the opportunity to teach Multinational Corporate Finance at Vietnam National University (VNU) in Hanoi, Vietnam. In 2023, Dr. Martin taught International Business at the Modern College of Business and Science (MCBS) in Muscat, Oman. Additionally, she has taught undergraduate-level finance and international business courses online for Park University, Parkville, MO, over the past eight years. Dr. Martin brings over 30 years of experience in the financial industry, including a decade with the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. She holds a Doctorate in International Business from Walden University, an MBA from Averett University, and a Bachelor of Science in Finance from Virginia Commonwealth University.
