Columbus, OH (June 15, 2021)

Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults in central Ohio, is pleased to announce its new Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics.

Uncovering the insights hidden within big data is essential for government organizations, nonprofits, and corporations in every industry. Franklin’s new Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics helps develop the skills to tell the story behind the numbers, create powerful visualizations to help communicate findings, and use predictive analysis to make recommendations based on trends. In addition, students explore the ethical principles of data throughout the program, including collection, access, ownership, and privacy issues. Most importantly, students learn how to transform information into meaningful insights and provide best practices to stakeholders.

The Introduction to Analytics course presents projects that provide opportunities to improve analytics skills by applying techniques to solve problems in various fields, from health to finance. For example, hands-on projects in the Data Visualization and Reporting class help create dashboards and visualizations using Tableau and SAS VIYA. Further, students will also learn about big data technologies and data mining techniques integrated with R and SAS miner labs.

According to EMSI labor market analytics, nearly 220,000 job postings listed SAS as a desired skill in 2019. To help students meet this demand, embedded within the Graduate Certificate in Data Analytics is a SAS Tier 2 Academic Specialization in Data Analytics that documents a student’s ability to leverage the capabilities of SAS tools for data preparation, advanced analytics, and visualization. Students also can pursue the SAS Industry Certificate at a reduced cost through an exam administered by the SAS Institute. In addition, the Data Visualization and Reporting (DATA 605) class cover topics to help prepare for the Tableau certification exam.

Designed with the busy, working adult in mind, the certificate can be taken 100% online and finished in as few as 8 months.
