Second Annual Distinguished Alumni with the Award for Professional Excellence Announced

Franklin University, one of the leading educators of working adults in central Ohio, celebrated its 174th Commencement on Friday, Sept. 8, 2023. Along with honoring the graduates, the University recognized Thomas Wolf with the Alumni Award for Professional Excellence.

Thomas Wolf, CPA, has more than 20 years of experience in the accounting field. He is the founder and managing member of Wolf Financial Group LLC, a full-service accounting firm with offices in Canton and Columbus. Wolf Financial Group LLC has earned a reputation for outstanding accounting, tax, and advisory services and has been recognized with many professional awards. The firm provides business consulting services, tax preparation services for individuals and businesses, tax planning services, accounting services, payroll processing, QuickBooks setup and implementation, and tax resolution services.

Tom completed an associate degree in business management, as well as an associate degree in accounting at Stark State College. A first-generation college student, he built on his initial academic success and earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in accounting from Franklin University.

In 2015, Tom was elected as the Plain Township fiscal officer. He is a member of the Sigma Beta Delta Honor Society, an international business, management, and administration honor society, and the Society of Leaders Scholars. Tom is treasurer for numerous nonprofit organizations, including the NFL Alumni Association, and is a Plain Township Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. The founder of the charitable organization Heroes Honored, Inc., he also serves as a Boy Scout adult leader for Troop 35 in North Canton.

Tom and his wife, Stephanie, have three children, Olivia, Grace, and Tommy, and a grandson, Theodore

About the Franklin University Alumni Awards
The Franklin University Alumni Awards were created to recognize the many achievements of Franklin University alumni, both professionally and personally. The awards, open to all alumni, distinguish accomplishments in three categories: professional excellence, social impact, and alumnus of the year. 
One of the three awards is announced at each of the University's Commencement ceremonies on a rotating basis. The Franklin University Alumni Advisory Council considers nominations and makes its recommendations to the University’s president for approval.
